History

The society was founded in 1992 at Marmara University Faculty of Medicine by Ender Pehlivanoglu M.D. and colleagues under the name of “Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Association”. In the following years, the association was opened to every physician working in the field of pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology and its name was changed to "Turkish Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition" in accordance with the "European Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition" (ESPGHAN) with the general assembly meeting held in 2006.

The main purpose of the society is to contribute to human health.

It is the primary duty of our country's healthcare professionals to increase their knowledge and experience in the field of childhood digestive system, liver and nutrition-related diseases and to maximize the health of our children.
